Real Heart & Soul ~ The Soul Kitchen of Jon Bon Jovi

Besides being a humbled Rock Star, Jon Bon Jovi has touched our souls through our stomachs... Here at Sac Dine-In Delivery we send our true respects and gratitude of all philanthropists blessing us with acts of kindness and to believe in success. Being that Fathers Day is approaching, this article and event has touched our hearts and we wanted to share that with you.

Here is the Soul Kitchen Manifesto (http://www.jbjsoulkitchen.org/en/about):

All are welcome at our table.
At the JBJ Soul Kitchen, a place is ready for you if you are hungry, or if you hunger to make a difference in your community. For we believe that a healthy meal can feed the soul.
Happy are the hands that feed.
Those who volunteer are guided by Soul Kitchen staff through their tasks. Volunteering at Soul Kitchen can lead to qualifying for job training.
When there is love, there is plenty.
As you will see, our menu has no prices. You select what you like and make the minimum donation. If you can afford to donate more you are helping to feed your neighbor. If you are unable to donate, an hour of volunteering pays for your meal.
Good company whets the appetite.
At Soul Kitchen, neighbors from across the street or across town, new friends, families, those in need of help and those with help to offer, come together and share a good meal and the warmth of good company.
Friendship is our daily special.
Introduce yourself to the person seated beside you or across the table. Stay awhile and stay informed of all the ways Soul Kitchen is dedicated to eliminating hunger, building relationships, and celebrating community.
End the meal with a slice of happiness.
At Soul Kitchen the main ingredient is Love, with a large helping of you. Our chefs prepare our healthy, delicious meals with the freshest ingredients, some grown in our own organic garden. At the JBJ Soul Kitchen all are treated with cheerfulness, kindness, and respect.

We wish you all a Happy Father's Day!!

I'm Ale~ing For Some Hoppy! ~Coming Soon!

Cause I'm HOPPY!! Yes we are & Yes we did!

After a great handshake with Marketing Director Scott Patterson, who by the way is an awesome guy; Sac Dine-In Delivery is excited to announce that we will be delivering Hoppy Brewing's tasty dishes right to your front door! Can you believe that!

Known for their beer and some mighty fine home made Ale, we are so hoppin' happy to announce our new featured restaurant that has allowed us to be a part of their team!

Hoppy's menu is truely unique, mouthwatering and with the combination of that fine beer, you can't go wrong! As currently we would only be delivering their tasty dishes, but you never know when the green light turns on and the drink is ON!

So what's the hooplah behind Hoppy Brewing?  Founder Troy Paski, had no idea that he would be producing this treasure ~"Having gained experience in satellite operations, and software debugging/development, the company was originally conceived with the intent of providing engineering services to the defense industry. However, as an avid home brewer since receiving a brewing "kit" for Christmas in 1991, and having a passion for truly great beer, Troy soon realized a much more lucrative growth opportunity emerging in the craft-brewing industry, and helped pursued the company to pursue that avenue for growth instead" ~ Hoppy Brewing About Us Page.

With it's creative and colorful label on it's unique Ale with some good grub, it's a no wonder the place is "hoppin"! And let's not forget their "dyno-miiite" waiters and waitress. Woot Hoot!

So. if you haven't been there yet, your missing out and not to mention their late night Happy Hours! And with that to say, if you can't make it to the place, you can always call us to deliver those salivating foods right to your door.

Please stay tuned for more updates. We'll let you when it's grub time!

College Cuisine

by: Steve Wilcott
Going to college is a grand experience. It's the first time many young adults get the chance to begin taking care of themselves, no matter what the consequences. One of the main things that worries parents when their child heads out into the world of college is, of course, their diet. What are they going to eat if the cafeteria closes too early? What if they don't like the cafeteria food? What if they didn't even sign up for cafeteria meals?

Parents needn't worry. College students today have developed their own underworld of cuisine, involving quite the array of foods, time-tested by students in the past, and catered specifically to college needs by clever manufacturers.

The main staple of dorm life these days is, of course, the microwave. College students take microwave food to a whole new level. The smell of microwave popcorn is right at home in a dorm, even at 3 am. I had a roommate at college who ate microwave popcorn for breakfast. Quick, easy, cheap and filling- what more could you ask for?

Online Reviews? Keep This in Mind

The size and racial makeup of a city, the price of a meal and even the weather can skew the quality and quantity of online restaurant reviews, according to the first large-scale academic study to analyze how outside factors affect crowd-sourced review sites.

The study, which will be released Wednesday, used computer models to examine nearly 1.1 million reviews of 840,000 restaurants over nearly a decade.

Online reviewers posted most often in July and August, researchers said, but those reviews were more likely to be negative. And regardless of season, if the weather was uncomfortable, all the worse for the chef. The most negative reviews were written when it was colder than 40 degrees or warmer than 100 degrees, or if it was raining or snowing.

The researchers, Saeideh Bakhshi, a doctoral student at the Georgia Institute of Technology; her husband, Partha Kanuparthy, who works for Yahoo Labs; and Eric Gilbert, an assistant professor at the university, said the weather’s seeming sway over reviews surprised them the most.

They also found that some regions of the country were more prolific in their online reviewing habits than others. Restaurants in the Northeast and on the West Coast were reviewed more than those in the South or the Midwest.

Predictably, urban areas with a higher level of education and income tended to participate in online review sites more often.

Among the other findings: People who waited a long time for a table in busy cities were more forgiving than those who waited in smaller communities. And sushi restaurants were consistently rated higher than hamburger places, the researchers said, showing that ambience and a higher meal cost could produce better reviews.

“That speaks to the perception of price,” Ms. Bakhshi said. “Places that have nice ambience and are listed as romantic or trendy or more expensive, the rating is higher.”

The couple came up with the idea for the study when they were in Seattle. They noticed that Seattle reviewers seemed to give fewer stars to similar restaurants than reviewers in Atlanta.

Certainly, the respective palates of each city could be a factor, but the couple thought there might be a way to measure other differences. So they created analytic computer models based on data from several sites, including TripAdvisor, Foursquare and Citysearch.
